Overview
Juan Venado Island is a natural reserve that gives us a unique natural attraction. This destination is located 20 minutes from the city of León, located in one of the most beautiful beaches in Nicaragua, Las Peñitas – from the coast, we take a motorboat, and we enter the island, where we will find biodiversity of birds and different species of mammals (squirrels, raccoons, etc.), reptiles (crocodiles, alligators, turtles, etc.) and amphibians, in addition to learning about the variety and types of mangroves that are around. The island has an extension of 23 km in length and 1,500 meters in its widest part.
This island also gives us access to the coast where we can sunbathe and take a nice swim on the beach, and if we are in the season we can release sea turtles!
